Another Way to Help in the Gulf

DATE: July 12th, 2010

We may not be able to personally stop the oil spill in the Gulf… but we CAN exert pressure to stop the spraying of hundreds of thousands of gallons of the dangerous neurotoxic – Corexit - in the Gulf of Mexico. http://www.stopthespraying.org/

Facts about Corexit:

  • Corexit is 4x more toxic than crude oil
  • Corexit is banned as too dangerous to use in the UK
  • Corexit is being sprayed by the hundreds of thousands of gallons on the Gulf by plane with most of it ending up in the atmosphere
  • Corexit is not an effective way to remedy oil spills and is being used solely to mask the problem
  • Corexit has the potential to permanently contaminate drinking water supplies in the areas it is being sprayed

You can help stop the spraying by taking some very simple actions: http://www.stopthespraying.org/
